Description
The tour begins in Las Vegas with a southeast drive into the Mojave Desert aboard a comfortable mini-coach or luxury Sprinter. About 45 minutes from the city, you stop at the Bypass Bridge to see Hoover Dam and Lake Mead from the Mike O’Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
Next, travel through a forest of ancient Joshua Trees, where you can take photos with the Grand Wash Cliffs as a backdrop.
At the 165-acre Grand Canyon Western Ranch, enjoy a cowboy-style lunch at the Ranch House. Optional activities at the ranch include horseback rides, wagon tours, a buffalo safari, and a western-style shooting range.
The highlight is a 25-minute helicopter flight from the ranch’s private heliport. The flight goes over Spirit Mountain and the Grand Wash Cliffs, descending 1,500 feet below the rim to follow the Colorado River. You cover over 15 miles, viewing canyon spires, cliffs, and colorful rock walls. The helicopter seats six passengers with forward-facing stadium seating and large windows. The pilot provides live narration throughout the flight.
After the helicopter returns to the ranch, the tour concludes with a scenic coach ride back to Las Vegas, arriving around 4:00pm.
