Description
Depart early from Las Vegas for a full-day kayaking experience on the Colorado River. Paddle past the Hoover Dam, descending 1,100 feet to reach the dam’s base and see it up close from the water.
Continue down the slow-moving river past the Fish Hatchery to a historic trailhead. Take a short hike to the River Gauger’s Home to learn about the Colorado River’s history. Then explore Emerald Cave, a channel revealing the green waters of Black Canyon.
The tour proceeds to Sandy Beach offering photo opportunities before arriving at Willow Beach. Along the route, watch for wildlife including rainbow trout, bald eagles, and bighorn sheep.
