Spring and fall are the best times to hop on your bike here. Summer? Unless you’re an early bird, you’ll roast. Take the River Mountains Loop Trail near Boulder City for a ride that mixes scenic views with a real workout. It’s about 35 miles of mostly paved paths winding around Lake Mead and connecting small communities with great stops for water and snacks.

If pavement isn’t your thing, Red Rock Canyon offers some rugged mountain biking options with stunning backdrops, and a chance to see desert wildlife up close. Just pack plenty of water and sunscreen , the sun doesn’t mess around here.
