The city’s food and drink scene has quietly grown into something pretty exciting, especially if you know where to look. Sure, the Strip has its share of high-end wine and spirit tastings at resorts like the Wynn or Bellagio, but some of my favorite spots are hiding in neighborhoods like Summerlin and the Arts District.

And don’t overlook local wineries and craft distilleries just outside of Vegas. Places like Pahrump Valley Vineyards aren’t far, and they offer a relaxed setting where you can sip and chat without the Vegas rush. For beer lovers, a stop at Banger Brewing on Fremont Street gives you some interesting local brews along with savory snacks.

Pro tip: If you’re visiting in spring or fall, try and time your tastings with the weekly food truck meets or farmers markets around Downtown Las Vegas. It’s casual, fun, and you get a real sense of local flavors beyond the casino menus. Oh, and don’t be shy about booking a tasting tour in the evening. Vegas isn’t just a party town,it’s also where wine and whiskey meet a laid-back crowd ready to unwind.

If you want my advice, skip the tourist traps and aim for spots outside the big casino joints. Downtown’s Arts District is really where you’ll find craft beer flights and artisanal tastings without the crowds. I love stopping by Banger Brewing for their rotating taps and asking for recommendations,they treat newcomers like old friends. Also, try hitting a tasting in the late afternoon during happy hour; it’s quieter and often cheaper. And don’t forget, some wineries and distilleries require reservations, especially on weekends. A quick call can save you a lot of waiting around.

Oh, and if you’re renting a car, get out to Red Rock Canyon’s outskirts,there are small vineyards and tasting rooms there too. The scenery just adds something special that the Strip can’t offer.
